Meet the herd
All of our goats are currently seeking loving homes where they can retire from the Patrol. They were all born in 2008 so they have a lot of life left to live (goats can live 12-14 years). If you or someone you know has room in your life for two or more of these charmers please follow the links to their Petfinder profiles or conact us directly at info@thegoatpatrol.com.
Jacques is a handsome devil who draws attention with his striking coloration and large horns. He is very curious and often is the first one to the fence. Jacques has learned a lot from Genghis over the past year (for better or for worse) and now the two of them are almost always side by side. He was very skittish when he first joined the Patrol, but now he loves it when you scratch his head and neck. He and Genghis are quite the dynamic duo and would love to nuzzle up to you on your farm. I'm adopted!
Kima is a slightly smaller and paler version of her big brother Jacques. Also like her brother, she was initially very shy around people, but has since relaxed. She isn't quite ready for petting but she's getting there. Kima should be adopted with Sweetie, Rosa, or Rhoda. I'm adopted!
Gunther (nee "Buster") is a kinder gentler goat then he was when he first came to us from Durham APS. Don't let his size fool you, Gunther is all heart. A bucket of sweet feed can rile him up, but we most often liken him to Ferdinand the Bull. Nothing is better than feeling his big head sink into your hand as you scratch him under the chin. Everyone who meets Gunther just loves him, and we are sure you will, too. He would be best paired with Rosa, Elkie and Magnus, or Sweetie. Adopt Gunther!
Magnus von Magnusson, Magnus to his friends, is sweet little pygmy that came to us from APS of Durham along with Gunther. At first he was frightfully shy around people, but now he is a confident little charmer who always makes us smile. He is strongly bonded with Elkie, so the two must be adopted together. Adopt Magnus!
Rosa is one of our most popular does. She was bottle raised and doesn't really see herself as a goat. Rosa does what Rosa wants to do, and there is really no point in arguing with her. The good news is she never strays far, and will usually come when called. If you are looking for a small goat for a pet or companion animal, Rosa might be the perfect doe for you. Adopt Rosa!
Genghis is a true individual with a lot of personality. Genghis enjoys meeting new people and pleasant conversation. He is a real ham, so chances are if you have seen the Goat Patrol, you have met Ghengis up close and personal. He craves attention and run up to nuzzle you and get a scratch on the head. You would be hard pressed to find another goat like him, though Jacques does his best to imitate him. One caveat: these two are large animals and require a firm hand. I'm adopted!
Sweetie is the most laid back member of the herd. She will approach any newcomer to the goat yard, and is particularly fond of children. Unfortunately for our goat herd, she is also very good at finding her way to the wrong side of the fence. Sweetie loves people and would be a great education, therapy, or companion animal. She is small and relatively easy to handle. She would be best paired with Rosa, Kima, Rhoda, or any of the wethers. I'm adopted!
Franco is a handsome fellow dressed in formal black and white right down to his spats. Franco has had a lot of brushes with fate over the years and we are sometimes amazed that he survived them all. He has a close friendship with Mr. Pickles, causing us to suspect a kinship between the two. He and Mr. Pickles must be adopted together. Adopt Franco!
Eleanor's huge pendulous and delicate snout give her an elegant beauty. Eleanor is a gentle and intelligent doe who is has developed a lot of confidence over the years. She is not quick to approach strangers, but will happily come over for a treat or a scratch once she gets to know you. She is strongly bonded with Nimoy, and the two must be adopted together. I'm Adopted!
Nimoy is a cute and shaggy fellow who likes to hang back and assess the situation before rushing into anything. Don't be fooled, though, Nimoy is a large goat with a lot of confidence. He shares almost nothing in common with his sister Rhoda except for a distinctive white forefoot. His best pal is Eleanor and the two of them must be adopted together. I'm Adopted!
Priscilla is a princess with an attitude. She may be small, but she is not shy about claiming her place in the herd. Priscilla is always tidy and clean with only a faint tea colored patch on one side to interrupt her pretty white coat. She has a lot of history with Olive and the two would be best adopted together. I'm Adopted!
Sigmund is a large goat with a personality and work ethic to match. He is always the first one in the trailer in the morning and the last one to stop working at night. Sigmund may not show a lot of affection, but he does his job and does it well. When it's time to take a nap, Sigmund snuggles up with Sugar. The two of them must be adopted as a pair. I'm Adopted!
Olive is a beautiful and gentle little doe who loves to climb. She would be delighted to move into a barnyard with lots of stumps and boulders on which to play. Olive will happily eat from our hands, but she does not seek out attention from people. Priscilla is her best match. I'm Adopted!
Butch's crooked ear and large horns give him a distinctive appearance. Butch has mellowed into a strong and confident wether who enjoys a fairly prominent rank in the herd. He is big and he knows it, but he doesn't take advantage of his size all that often. Most of the time he is content to let Ghengis hog the spotlight. Butch would do well with another wether or a non-dominant doe like Rhoda. Adopt Butch!
Sugar wins the award for most improved attitude. She used to be a rebel who took no guff. Now she is affectionate and pleasant to be around. She is still a bit of a bully to the other goats, but that's just how she gets respect. She is pair bonded with Sigmund and will need to join him in his new home. I'm Adopted!
Elkie is one of our favorite goats. He is a tough and stocky wether who takes himself seriously but comes across as a real clown. What is it about this goat that always makes us smile? The crooked ears? The oversized head? Or is it the way he storms into every situation on his stumpy little legs? Whatever it is, we just love him. Elkie used to be a loner, but now he pals around with Magnus. The two of them are adorable together. Adopt Elkie!
Rhoda is a leggy red headed beauty. Her shiny coat is as soft as it looks, and if you are patient she'll let you touch it. None of our does have ever been bred but we suspect Rhoda would make an excellent mother. Rhoda would be best paired with a gentle goat like Sweetie, Butch, or Gunther. I'm adopted!
Mr. Pickles used to be a sour gherkin but he is getting sweeter every day. He is a skinny fellow, but his affection for people is hefty. He and Franco go everywhere together and must be adopted as a pair. Adopt Mr. Pickles!
