Goat Patrol offers an economical alternative to clearing crews, landscapers, machinery, and herbicides. You will be amazed by how much our goats can eat in a day. Goats are most appropriate for tackling tough areas that can be difficult or dangerous to clear by other means, such as areas filled with poison ivy and thorny plants.

Every job is different, so we will not give estimates without a site visit. Contact us at (919) 757-1850 or info@thegoatpatrol.com to schedule your free estimate. To get an idea of what our herd can do in a few days, check out the before and after shots here.

New Rates and Service Offerings for 2011

Basic Graze:

This is the most economical option available – the goats eat away the rough stuff then you or your landscaper take over to finish the details. The Basic Graze is perfect for DIY types who need a head start on a challenging backyard renovation or property owners seeking a low impact way to maintain a natural area. Our customers have been amazed by how much space they actually have once the goats have cleared away the clutter. It’s perfect housewarming gift for new home owners with “old growth” or anyone else whose landscape has been taken over by jungle.

Includes: Fencing and goats
Minimum commitment: One day
Rate: $250 per day

English Ivy Remediation:

English Ivy is one of the most challenging plants to control. This invasive vine can quickly take over large areas, killing trees and damaging structures in its path. If you have tried to tackle ivy on your property, you know that complete eradication is almost impossible to achieve. Herbicides are ineffective and costly, hand pulling is difficult and time consuming, and mechanical cutting can’t be done easily on rocky or uneven terrain. Our goats offer a non-toxic and low impact method of getting this marauder under control. Our customers have seen upwards of a 90% reduction in ivy cover in as few as three visits in a 12-18 month period. It takes patience, but persistence can pay off in the end. Contact us for a free consultation to learn more.

Includes: Fencing, goats, scheduled site inspections, and repeat visits
Minimum commitment: Three visits
Rate: $1000 and up depending on size of area and maintenance plan

Munch and Mulch:

Looking for a clean slate for your next garden project? Want to add curb appeal without the high cost of landscaping? Try our Munch and Mulch option. This service goes beyond the basic graze to include sheet mulching for a clean look or to prepare an area for future planting. After the goats have done their bit, our human crew returns to remove woody debris, lay down a biodegradable weed barrier, and distribute a heavy layer of mulch over the grazed region. (Not available in all circumstances)

Includes: Fencing, goats, mulch delivery and dispersal
Minimum commitment: One day and ten yards of mulch
Rate: $250 per day plus cost of mulch and labor (varies by area, approx. $300 for 10 yds distributed)

Goat Party:

Have the goats clear out a small plot while you and your guests enjoy the show. The Goat Patrol is now available for half day events to liven up housewarmings, birthday parties, or any other event that takes place outdoors in view of land that needs grazing. Makes a great gift! Important note: The goats are working animals, not a petting zoo. The fun comes from watching them!

Includes: Fencing, goats, and a personalized Goat Patrol greeting card
Minimum commitment: Two hours
Rate: $75 per hour

Additional services:

Debris Hauling: Removal of woody material not eaten by goats. $50 per load.
Poison Ivy Removal: Removal of poison ivy roots. $15 per 30 gallon bag.
